Club MAC Majorca

We’ve all spent too much time cooped up in 2020 thanks to COVID-19. So, booking an outdoor activity holiday for 2021 sounds like a great idea to us.

Club MAC Alcudia is perfectly situated to enjoy an outdoor activity holiday and squeeze in a spot of sunbathing too! We’re lucky to be on an island that offers loads of choice for those who want to get the adrenalin pumping. Majorca is the perfect destination for anyone who likes to try a new sport or outdoor challenge in beautiful surroundings.

Summer 2021 is the perfect time for an outdoor activity holiday at Club MAC

Majorca is small, but it packs a lot in. Got some energy to burn off after chilling out on our incredible beaches? Then you’re in luck. From cycling to ‘coasteering’, cliff jumping to caving, there is something for every ability.

Take a look at these five activities in Majorca that we’ve picked out for you. The great news is that you can easily do all of them from your base at Club MAC Alcudia.

  1. Explore Majorca’s spectacular caves

Cavers are spoiled for choice in Majorca. The island is as spectacular and varied underground as it is above ground. Even if you’ve never put on a helmet and ventured below ground before, there are plenty of organised tours to choose from. Take your pick from tours around the Genova Caves in Palma de Mallorca, the Hams Caves in Manacor or the Arta Caves in Capdepera, to name just a few.

We run excursions to the Campanet or Drach caves from Club MAC, so book a trip with us next time you’re here!

  1. Coasteering: rock pooling with a difference!

You might not have heard of ‘coasteering’ before, but trust us, it’s well worth trying out. It’s a great way to see Majorca’s incredible coastline for one. But it’s also guaranteed to get the blood pumping and the adrenalin flowing.

We’ve seen coasteering described as ‘extreme rock pooling’ before, which only just begins to cover how exciting it is. The activity involves scrambling over rocks, exploring caves, climbing and of course swimming. There are plenty of places to give it a go around the island. For something a little more relaxed, you can also book boat cruises, scuba diving and snorkelling trips from Club MAC too.

  1. Explore our island on two wheels

Fans of professional cycling will already know that Majorca is one of the best places on the planet for getting out on your bike. Many of the pro cycling teams use our island as a training ground for the big races.

We have the steep hills, good roads and spectacular scenery that makes this the ideal place to explore on two wheels. If you’re a confident cyclist we recommend that you just hire a bike, plan your own route and head out to explore the roads. Alternatively there are also plenty of organised bike tours of our island that you can join.

  1. Take the plunge and try cliff jumping

First things first: cliff jumping isn’t for the faint-hearted. It’s the kind of potentially dangerous activity that you should only ever do with professional support. That aside, cliff jumping is the ultimate adrenaline buzz.

Majorca is blessed with an incredible coastline and our cliff tops are breathtaking. Our tip is to head to Cala Varques over on the east coast of the island, where you can plunge into crystal clear blue waters. Once again, only ever do this with professional help and all of the right equipment.

  1. See the island’s canyons from a fresh perspective

Canyoning is the ultimate outdoor activity. You’ll find yourself clambering over rocks, jumping down gullies, abseiling off cliffs and swimming as you navigate down a steep gorge. Majorca is one of the top destinations in Europe for canyoning and has a diverse range of experiences to choose from.

Try the relatively straightforward routes that are great for beginners such as Coanegra. Or if you’re up for more of a challenge then the Gorg Blau canyon is unmissable. The Sa Fosca section in particular is incredible. You’ll travel between rock walls 300m high – so high in fact that the sunlight can’t reach you and you’re in darkness for an hour!

There are so many outdoor activities to explore on Majorca that we couldn’t possibly cover them all here. If you want to try any activity during your stay with us in summer 2021 then just ask our team here at Club MAC Alcudia for more information.
