Three Driving Routes to Try When You Visit Club MAC Alcudia - Club Mac

If you rent a car when you stay at Club MAC Alcudia, you can hit the open road and drive to explore some of the most stunning attractions the island has to offer.

Explore Majorca

Club MAC Alcudia is based in the port town of Alcudia, on the north-east edge of Majorca. The largest Balearic Island has a whole trove of historical monuments, breath-taking beaches and epic landscapes for you to enjoy, and if you rent a car you can explore everything Majorca has to offer at your leisure. Here are three driving routes you might want to try when you visit Club MAC Alcudia.

Bays of Pollensa and Alcudia

If you want to check out some of Majorca’s most amazing beaches, you could always drive around the bays of Pollensa and Alcudia, which are just a stone’s throw away from Club MAC Alcudia. This 60 kilometre route starts at the seafront in Port de Pollensa, before carrying you around the bay and taking you south towards Alcudia.

As you drive, you’ll stop by some exciting attractions. At the beginning you’ll get the chance to look out over the golden beaches of Pollensa and gaze upon both the epic Victoria Peninsula and the majestic SÁlbufereta wetlands nature reserve. When you reach Alcudia, you’ll be able to glimpse a number of the port’s most historic sites up close including its medieval walls and gateway.

Lluc to Orient

You could also try the Lluc to Orient route when you stay at Club MAC Alcudia. With this journey you’ll start at local pilgrimage site Lluc Monastery, which is around an hour’s drive from Alcudia. As you go you’ll pass the village of Caimari (pictured above) and the town of Manacor, before ending at the tiny village of Orient.

The monastery isn’t the only attraction you’ll pass on this drive. When you reach Caimari you’ll be able to check out its famous olive groves, while Manacor is known for its furniture and artificial pearl factories as well as the Caves of Drach, which are epic. If you take this route we’d also suggest you go to the Sant Jordi Church in Orient, which is a charming example of 17th Century Balearic architecture.

North-East Majorca

You may also want to drive around the north-east of Majorca. Beginning at Manacor, this route goes to the beach town of Porto Cristo – known for its shimmering beaches, before carrying you past rural landscapes and classic Majorcan villages and eventually taking you back to the Bay of Alcudia.

We already revealed that there are a tonne of touristy things to do in Manacor, but this route has so much more to offer. You may want to check out the Coves dels Hams, a fantastic system of caves on the east cost of Majorca. While driving you’ll also get the chance to stop by the island’s Safari Zoo, which has a great selection of wildlife and the Castle of Capdepera, a classic walled fortress which overlooks the village of the same name.

Getaway of a lifetime

There are so many things to do in Majorca. If you hire a car and try one of these three driving routes, you’ll be able to see the island in all its glory, ensuring that you make wonderful getaway memories when you spend some time at Club MAC Alcudia.
