Club MAC Ironman

If you want to know what’s waiting for when you visit Majorca this year, keep on reading. This week Club MAC Alcudia continues to let you know what’s happening in Alcudia in 2015. Here’s the final instalment of our three part series.

Bustling Port Town

You’ll find Club MAC Alcudia on the sun-kissed Spanish Balearic island of Majorca. A fantastic family resort, Club MAC Alcudia has a range of exciting activities guaranteed to provide your family with memories they’ll treasure forever.

The prime location of Club MAC Alcudia in the bustling port town of Alcudia means you’ll find an event to keep you occupied everywhere you turn, when you choose us for your yearly getaway in 2015. The pace of life in Alcudia doesn’t slow down with the end of the summer; there’s plenty of things happening in Alcudia between September and December 2015….

September

The last month of summer kicks off with the Xtreme Open Water Swim on 5th September. One for the adventurers among you, this 7km medium difficulty swim from Formentor beach will take you to the limit! If that’s not your cup of tea wait until the next day and try attending the Festes de Santa Anna event instead. Held on the 6th September, this time honoured festival sees the island come together to celebrate horses and horse racing.

September continues with the experience of a lifetime: The Alcudia Jazz Festival. Taking place every Saturday in September, this event gives you the chance to bop along to some of the finest jazz bands in the world. Meanwhile if you’re more into sports, September is the month for you in Alcudia, as this is the time that the Torneo Inselradio Golf Tournament returns to the town on 19th September.

Once you’ve teed off for the last time, you can continue to indulge your love of sports with the IV Cuitat D’Alcudia Half Marathon. Held on 20th September you can test your endurance by running around this historic city. Your kids will be able to get in on the action on the 25th at the Ironkids Majorca competition, which will give them the opportunity to master circuits prepared on the town’s picturesque stretch of shore.

For the adults, there is the annual and very popular Thomas Cook Ironman 70.3 Mallorca, which is known as a training paradise for cyclists and triathletes. The course takes athletes on a tour through many villages that offer incredible views and diversity.

October

The fun’s set to continue in Alcudia as October dawns, with the Fira D’Alcudia Traditional Fair that will come to town on the first weekend of the month. Filled to the brim with crafts, agricultural shows, horses etc. This is a great chance to experience real Majorcan culture. However, if you want something a little more strenuous, wait until the next weekend…

The 9th – 11th October sees Alcudia welcome the Copa Pescadisco Frisbee Tournament back inside its city limits. Held every year on the glorious white sands of Alcudia’s beach, it’s sure to provide a fun day out for you and your family. October rounds off with the Gran Premi Platja D’Alcudia Sailing Race in Alcudia Bay on the 10th – 11th. Specifically for young people, this race is a great way for your kids to experience the joys of sailing for themselves.

November and December

You can have just as much fun in the winter in Alcudia as you can in the summer. Take November, this is the month that the Santa Cecilia Concert comes back to the Majorcan settlement. Held on the 22nd, this concert to honour the patron saint of musicians is a delight for the ears!

Meanwhile, Alcudia goes big for the holiday season! Christmas Day itself is a truly fantastic occasion in Alcudia, as the town hosts a number of activities to celebrate everybody’s favourite day of the year. Personally we’d suggest you check out the Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve as well as the nativity scenes held in the heart of the city. Alcudia also hosts its own fun-filled San Silvestre race on New Year’s Eve!
