Whether you prefer to swim in the sea at the beautiful sandy beach under 1km away, or you fancy taking a turn in one of our eight swimming pools on site, there are plenty of water activities at Club Mac to enjoy.

We even have a water park just across the road, with inclusive entry for guests at Club MAC Alcudia. It’s a water lover’s dream! Here are just some of the splashy activities you can enjoy while you stay with us at Club MAC.

Visit the Hidropark

Club MAC has an agreement with the owners of Hidropark Alcudia, which means as our guests you can go in free! Make the most of the fun on offer by popping across the road and spending a day at the Hidropark.

There are slides and apparatus ideal for every age group, from toddlers through to teenagers and adults. And it’s all just 20 metres from our resort so it’s simple to have a great day out for no extra charge. You can also get 10% off their food and drink and rent sunbeds for 5,00€ at the Hidropark.

Club MAC swimming pools

Back at the resort you’ll find eight swimming pools on site. Club MAC Alcudia was built around two natural lakes that are part of the S’Albufera wetlands. While there are activities on the lake, including pedalos and mini-electric boats, adults can also kick back in lakeside quiet area. Purposefully peaceful and tucked away from the busy main area, it’s a great place to enjoy some quiet time.

For those who want to get stuck into our pools, here’s what’s on offer. The Marte and river pool is next to the Marte building and offers a decent amount of shade at certain times of the day. There is a separate lower pool area for children and right next to it, our fun river pool.

The biggest swimming pool at Club MAC Alcudia is the Saturno pool, which also has a smaller pool next to it for children. At the far end of the Jupiter building, you’ll also find three pools suitable for both children and adults, all under cover of a shady canopy.

We also have the dragon pool, which is a splash pool with a very low water level, making it safer for toddlers and little kids. There are sunbeds and a water fountain at this pool.

Water sports

As well as swimming and relaxing in the pools, we also have an activity programme jammed with watery fun. Choose from water polo or watervolley, or head down to the beach (located under 1km away) for more specialised water activities including paddle-boarding and windsurfing.

There are water activities at Club Mac for every age group, and group activities for the whole family together. If you’re a water lover, we promise you’ll have a great time at Club MAC!

kid snorkelling in the sea

Club MAC Alcudia features a range of swimming pools, two natural lakes and is based near some of Majorca’s most popular beaches. When visiting our resort this summer, you can try exciting water-based activities such as snorkelling, which is perfect for the kids. If this sounds like something you want to try, check out the following five snorkelling tips for beginners!

Find the right mask

Before you take to the water, you need to find a snorkelling mask. If you buy an ill-fitting mask, water might seep in while you’re swimming! As a rule of thumb the mask should stay in place without you having holding it, fitting snugly at the widest area of your head. If water does start flowing in when you’re snorkelling, adjust the straps at the back to fix the problem!

Learn to defog

Sometimes when you’re snorkelling the mask can fog-up, blocking your vision. It’s really important that you learn how to defog your mask, so you can see where you’re going! If you go online you’ll see a range of tricks on how to defog when snorkelling such as applying a mix and baby shampoo and ocean water. Experiment before you go snorkelling so you can find the solution that works best!

Practise breathing

Breathing is one of the biggest challenges of snorkelling. Find a way to breathe steadily through the mask, so you can snorkel without constantly coming up for air. We’d suggest that you practise breathing through your mask before you get into the water, so you can get the hang of it. Make sure that you don’t bite the tube when breathing, or your jaw will get really sore really fast!

Do some research

It’s really important that you do some research before you go snorkelling, so you can yourself safe at all times. Learn the rules of staying safe when swimming so you can glide through the water with the peace of mind needed to enjoy your snorkelling experience. Also find out where the lifeguards are stationed and look up the rules of the area were your swimming, so you always stay safe.

Buddy up

There’s strength in numbers! If you’re new to all this, you might want to think about finding a snorkelling buddy. You can keep each other safe and appreciate everything this fun water sport has to offer together! We should note that if you’re going snorkelling with your kids, you should stick close to them at all times, so you can help them out if they experience any problems!

Enjoy the water

Snorkelling is great family activity. It gives you the chance to bond while discovering a whole new underwater world, making wonderful holiday memories you’re sure to treasure forever. If you and your family are beginners, make sure you know what you’re doing so you enjoy swimming through the water when you visit Club MAC Alcudia this summer!

How to Teach Your Kids to Swim - Club Mac

To make sure your family has a fabulous time at Club MAC Alcudia, this week we’ve decided to let you know how you can teach your kids to swim.

Underwater adventure

If you want to provide your family with the underwater adventure of a lifetime, you should fly out to Club MAC Alcudia this summer. A first-rate family holiday resort in Alcudia, Majorca, not only we have eight swimming pools, but we just so happen to be located a stone’s throw away from the Mediterranean Sea!

But your kids won’t be able to enjoy all the water-based activities they’re destined to encounter when they come to Club MAC if they can’t swim. Therefore, it may fall to you to teach them how to master this essential life skill, before you travel out for a week of fun in the sun-drenched climes of Majorca.

Five teaching tips

It can be hard to get kids to learn to swim, but if you use the following five tips, you’ll have your kids gliding through the water like pros before you set foot on Majorcan soil:

1)      Put safety first: Your kids will fail before they succeed. As a parent you need to create a safe learning environment, so your kids can fail without putting themselves in danger.

2)      Be positive: You need to build up your child’s confidence if you’re ever going to give them the ability to swim on their own. You should create a positive environment, so you can provide your child with the confidence they need to conquer the water.

3)      Progress gradually: Don’t allow a beginner to swim before they can paddle. You should teach simple swimming skills first, and progress onto more difficult abilities gradually, so you can give your children the space they need to master one skill at a time.

4)      Use aids: The best swimming instructors use aids such as flotation devices, kickboards and inflatables. These tools will provide your kids with the support they need to transition from amateur paddlers to expert swimmers.

5)      Make learning fun: Every school teacher who’s ever lived will tell you that kids don’t pay attention when they’re bored. Therefore you need to make learning to swim fun. You could, for example, employ the use of pool-based games and turn learning to swim into an underwater adventure of its very own!

Give your kids an adventure!

Teaching your children to swim will be tough work, but it’ll be so worth the effort. It’ll allow you to give your kids the skills they need to set off on an epic underwater adventure when they travel out to Club MAC Alcudia for the holiday of a lifetime!
