At Club MAC Alcudia, we believe in creating the perfect family-friendly resort in Alcudia, where kids and parents can enjoy an unforgettable holiday. With exciting entertainment, all-inclusive dining, and access to amazing water activities, there’s something for everyone in the family.
From the food and drink in our all-inclusive holiday deal to the waterpark opposite, the nearby beach and the swimming pools on site, Club MAC is a kids’ paradise!
Why is Club MAC such a great ‘kids-included’ resort?
We have three restaurants serving all-you-can-eat buffets for breakfast and dinner. Each of the hotel buildings has its own restaurant – Jupiter, Saturno and Marte. Every evening we have a different theme for dinner, ranging from Chinese to Spanish.
And the best thing for kids is that they have their very own kids’ corner in each restaurant. Packed with everything they love to eat, including nuggets, fries and pizza, there will be something for everyone. Children can also enjoy the main buffet too. Soft drinks are available at the bars on site, and there are several areas just for kids where they can help themselves to ice-cream and soda.
In each restaurant, there are also highchairs for babies, and we offer home-made purees or a microwave for baby food. Breakfast is between 8am and 10.30am in each restaurant, with a late breakfast until 12pm in Jupiter. Lunch is served between 12pm and 3pm in just Jupiter and Marte, with snacks available in the former until 6pm. Our Lake Burger Bar is also popular with children and offers fast food between 12.30pm and 4pm, while our Wagon Pizza offers two different types of pizza every day at the playground area from 12.30pm to 5.30pm. Dinner is from 6pm to 9pm (Marte until 9.30pm) in all three restaurants, with Jupiter serving a late dinner till midnight.
Entertainment and activities for all ages at Club MAC
We specialise in providing entertainment and activities for all age groups within the family. For children between four and eight years old, we have our mini club. Our team of Club MAC entertainers will keep your little ones amused with all kinds of activities. These range from t-shirt painting, special parties, costume parades, Macky’s birthday, Junior MasterChef competition and pool parties.
From the age of 7 years old, we have our Young Club. Kids can get together with others, make friends and enjoy a variety of fun activities. They can choose from poolside dances, football competitions, water games in the Saturno pool, table tennis and much more.
All of these activities are paid for in the all-inclusive deal, but we also offer extra-payment activities too. These are activities run by external companies at Club MAC and include the ESA Soccer Academy and pony rides. For all information about our extensive range of children’s activities and entertainment see our website.
Kids love the free access to the Hidropark Alcudia
As well as our entertainment programmes on site, all guests at Club MAC get free access to the Hidropark just opposite. This is the only waterpark in the north of Mallorca and is ideal for a kid-friendly day out. There are loads of slides, a wave pool and more to enjoy. Be aware that while entry is free, food and drink and sunbeds are chargeable.
And, as if that’s not enough, you can also hop on our shuttle bus to the beautiful nearby beach. Playa d’Alcudia is the perfect beach for children, as it consists of long stretches of golden sand, and has warm, shallow waters for swimming and playing. It’s less than 1km away from the resort, so it’s easily walkable if you don’t want to go on the free shuttle bus.
Evening entertainment at Club MAC
Night-time entertainment is family-focused too. There are kids’ dances, family bingo sessions, karaoke and plenty more to enjoy for older kids. Younger ones can enjoy a pyjama party, mini disco, and dressing up parades.
During high season, we also have an activity programme just for teenagers, where they can enjoy all kinds of sports and activities with our entertainment team.
Club MAC holidays are for the entire family, and we are delighted to welcome guests of all ages and sizes to our resort, including your tiny tots. We understand travelling with babies can be stress-free, especially if it’s your first time or if you’re travelling to a new country – but trust us when we say that we have your back. Every year, our guests include many families with young children of various ages, and we strive to provide them all with a relaxing and enjoyable vacation experience.
Our experience with young guests enables us to offer you some tips on how to travel stress-free with babies and how to make the most of your baby-onboard family holiday at Club MAC!
Flying abroad with your baby
There is no standard regulation on how old babies need to be before they can travel on flights. A few airlines may insist that your baby needs to be at least one or two weeks old, while the first 40 days is the traditional period of confinement many parents adhere to before taking their baby out. It’s best to check specific airline regulations before booking tickets, to be doubly sure. On British Airways, for instance, you can only book an infant ticket by contacting the airline.
You will also need to get a passport and travel insurance coverage for your baby. You will need to get a passport sorted, and make sure your baby is covered by your travel insurance. If your child’s surname is different from yours, you will need to take extra documentation.
When travelling with babies by air, a baby sling can help keep your little one secure and your hands-free to deal with tickets, luggage, and money. A lightweight foldable stroller can be equally useful. Check with the airline for the infant allowance on must-have items.
Some long-haul flights may carry tinned baby food, but you should always bring your own unopened baby food as well as sterilised bottles, boiled water in a thermos, and other necessary equipment in your hand baggage. You should be able to carry milk and baby formula in bottles exceeding the liquid restrictions when you’re travelling with babies.
A good tip is to feed your baby on take-off and on landing, as swallowing will help ease any earache due to changes in pressure.
What to pack for your baby
At Club MAC, when you book a room with a baby 23 months old or younger, we automatically provide a cot. You don’t need to request cots specifically unless you need one for a child who is two years or older, in which case let the hotel know before you arrive.
Bringing your baby’s own bedding can help them settle down and sleep better as they are used to the smell of your laundry. If you travel with a carrycot, make sure it’s one that also works for overnight sleeping, as they’re not all suitable.
If your baby tends to wake up as soon as the sun rises, all our rooms have black out blinds, which should help them sleep through. A sunshade for your pushchair, and plenty of hats and clothes with full coverage are necessary due to the hot Mallorcan sun. You can hire all kinds of equipment while at Club MAC, including pushchairs, if you’d rather travel as light as possible. Our on-site shop sells baby powder, nappies, formula and other baby-orientated products, and there is a chemist located just a few minutes’ walk from Club MAC.
If you’re bringing a baby monitor or nightlight, then make sure you also pack an adaptor for the sockets. Don’t worry if you forget, as you can always purchase one when you’ve arrived. Don’t forget a couple of favourite toys and books too. Baby supplies that are useful on holiday include high-factor sunscreen, nappies baby wipes, a changing mat, tissues, bibs, steriliser kit, bottles and formula. A small first-aid kit is always a good idea, with infant paracetamol, sticking plasters, colic treatment and teething gel.
Feeding your baby at Club MAC
If you’re feeding with formula, you can stash a few packs of ready-made formula in your hand luggage while travelling. It’s also available at the local chemist and supermarket. Travel sterilisers are available for hire if you don’t want to pack your own.
Keep in mind that fresh milk is not readily available in Spain since everyone drinks UHT (ultra-high temperature processed) milk, but you can find a small section of fresh milk at the nearby Lidl and Eroski supermarkets.
At Club MAC, we prepare homemade baby purees without added salt and only use 100% olive oil. These are batch-made and frozen ahead, so allow us plenty of time to defrost and heat them up for your little one. You can also heat up your choice of baby food in the microwaves at our restaurants and in the halls. We provide small plastic plates and cutlery as well as highchairs (think McDonald’s) for the comfort of our tiny guests.
Protecting your baby from the sun
Babies younger than six months should be kept out of the direct sun and older babies up to a year old should have limited sun exposure. Keep your baby protected from the hot Spanish sun with hats, sunglasses, full-coverage cotton clothes, and sunshades for their stroller or pushchair. Use a water-resistant high-SPF sunscreen to protect against both UVA and UVB.
If you go in the water with your baby, make sure that your sunscreen is water resistant, and always apply it straight away when you get out of the water. This applies even with ‘water resistant’ sunscreen, as it can easily be rubbed off by mistake.
Other baby travel essentials to pack
You can rent or purchase all kinds of essentials at Club MAC, so you get to travel to Alcudia as lightly as possible, even with a baby. For example, if you need a power adaptor for your baby monitor, you can purchase it here.
If you are running low on baby supplies, you can pick up things like baby powder, wipes, and nappies at the on-site shop. There is also a chemist located nearby, but we recommend carrying a small first aid kit when you travel, with infant paracetamol, saline nose drops, teething gel, sticking plasters, and other baby medications, especially since you may need any of them on the incoming flight.
We hope you have a happy and stress-free holiday with your baby at Club MAC!

Everyone who comes to Club MAC for their summer break deserves the best holiday possible. We work hard to try and make sure this happens, from our entertainment team to our kitchen staff, the Club MAC team really want you to have a great time. Which is why we don’t want a mosquito bite to ruin your stay at Club Mac!
Remember that we do have a natural lake in the centre of Club MAC, and some of the entertainment is close to it. This does mean that inevitably there are some mosquitoes around, and we know how frustrating it can be, particularly when children are bitten.
If this sounds familiar, then this blog is for you. We’ve put together some advice, information and treatment options for mossie bites, to keep the disruption to a minimum.
Why do some people get bitten by mosquitoes?
Some people are prone to mosquito bites, and others happily avoid them with no problem. Statistics show that between 10% and 20% of people are particularly tempting to mosquitoes and tend to get bitten, even while those they are hanging out with escape it completely.
It’s not completely clear as to why this is, but scientists think that blood type and genetics play a part. Studies from all the way back in the 1970s show that mosquitoes appear to prefer skin with Type O blood. Half as likely to get bitten are Type As, and Type B people are somewhere in the middle.
Mosquitoes home in on their choice of human from up to 50 metres away, and evidence suggests that people who exhale more carbon dioxide are more attractive to them. This applies to people who sweat more, are larger or exercise a lot. Mothers to-be are also more susceptible, possibly because they have a higher body temperature than other people and are exhaling more carbon dioxide.
Effective mosquito repellents that you can use at Club Mac
As mosquitoes really like dark colours, choose lighter shades and white clothes to avoid attracting their attention. Of course, the best and most reliable way to keep mossies away from you and your family is by using repellent.
The most effective is DEET (diethyltoluamide), which although chemical-based, has a very high safety record. Evidence shows that a repellent that contains 20% DEET will keep mosquitoes away for up to five hours.
For children, DEET products with 10% of less are the best bet. There are also other chemical mosquito repellents that work equally well, including those containing icariin and IR3535. They all have a different composition but work in the same way – by releasing odours that mossies can’t stand.
If you prefer natural products, there are various on the market that include citronella, neem or lemon eucalyptus. While this smell nicer, they are nowhere near as effective as DEET.
If you are bitten, here’s what you can do
For some people insect and mosquito bites cause an allergic reaction. Symptoms include intense itching and raised rashes visible on the skin. Sometimes small blisters might form, although this is less common. There are a few ways you can take the sting out of a mosquito bite and make the victim more comfortable:
Take an antihistamine, either loratadine or cetirizine 10mg once of twice a day. These are easily available over the counter and will help to relieve the itch and any swelling.
Try a very mild steroid cream. You can buy hydrocortisone between 0.5% and 1.5% from the chemist, and these can reduce itching and inflammation. Never use any steroid cream on the face without a doctor’s say so.
Use a cold compress on the rashes to cool the skin.
Don’t scratch – however tempting it feels.
Try calamine lotion on the affected areas for a cooling sensation.
Not scratching the bite is the single most important piece of advice, as this can increase the chance of it getting infected. It’s very difficult to stop yourself scratching a mossie bite, and it’s particularly difficult for kids. If you’re concerned they have been scratching look out for increase swelling, any swollen glands or complaints of pain, and check in with the on-site doctor if you have any concerns.
Having said that, it’s very unlikely that a mosquito bite will turn into an infection during your stauy at Club Mac. They are generally just an irritation that can cause discomfort. Take steps to protect yourself and your family and you may well avoid getting bitten at all.

Mallorca can enter various heatwaves during the summer, enduring temperatures of up to 40C. And while Alcudia is cooler thanks to coastal breezes, temperatures can still reach at least 35C. All of which means our Club MAC guests can enjoy some spectacularly hot weather in summer. Here’s our top tips to keeping your cool in a heatwave under the hot Alcudian sun.
Stay cool and have fun in the Alcudian heatwave
Sunshine is what holidays are all about, and we’re delighted that our guests will be able to enjoy the facilities on offer while basking in the Spanish sun. However, heatwaves can also take their toll, particularly on the youngest, the oldest and anyone with any health issues.
It’s easier than you think to become a victim of heat exhaustion, which results in all kinds of symptoms that could ruin your holiday. Feeling sick, muscle cramps and headaches are early warning signs, with more severe symptoms including confusion and fainting. No-one wants to suffer while they’re meant to be enjoying themselves, so follow the advice below to keep cool in a heatwave, and take it easy in the summer sun.
-
Drink lots of water
The biggest favour you can do yourself and your family is to keep everyone hydrated. Sweating profusely leads to dehydration, which can make you feel dizzy, tired and generally ill. In hot temperatures like this, you should drink fluid regularly throughout the day and throughout the evening.
Public Health England says to drink between six and eight glasses of water every day. Tea, coffee, soft drinks and alcohol don’t count towards this total, so make sure you drink enough. If you or your family do become dehydrated, use an oral rehydration treatment, such as Dioralyte, which replaces salts and sugars to rebalance your body.
-
Don’t drink too much alcohol
We know that all-inclusive holidays bring the temptation of beer in the sun but bear in mind alcohol dehydrates the body. If you are drinking, ensure you’re balancing it with plenty of water. Don’t overdo the drinking, and not only will you stay hydrated and feeling well, you’ll sleep better too.
-
Cover up and stay in the shade
Avoid being out in the midday sun. Between the hours of 11am and 3pm, mid-summer Mediterranean sun is simply too hot, particularly for children. Keep everyone happily in the shade and remember that babies under nine months should always be kept out of the sun.
High protection sun cream is a must for the whole family. Use factor 50 and reapply to everyone regularly, particularly if people are in and out of the pool. The majority of people don’t use enough sun protection. Put the kids in full-length swimsuits so they’re as covered as possible, and make sure everyone is wearing a hat.
-
Eat fresh, cool food
Our buffets are crammed with lots of different kinds of food, from meaty mains to vegetarian specials. We’d advise eating plenty of cooling fruits and vegetables when it’s super-hot, all of which will help to cool you down and keep you hydrated. Steer away from anything too heavy in the middle of the day, or anything that causes you to sweat more, like spicy curries.
-
Use the air conditioning
One of the biggest problems many people have in the heat is trying to sleep. All of our rooms at Club MAC have air conditioning, so make sure that the balcony doors are closed at night so that it works to its full capacity. An extra tip to keep cool is popping your pillowcases in the fridge while you’re out for the day – it can help you fall asleep on a hot, muggy night.
-
Take a dip
Cold or cool water helps your body temperature fall. If you’re having real trouble sleeping at night, run cold water over your wrists to quickly lower your body heat. The same goes for cooling down during the day. Use our swimming pools regularly, head on over to the Hidropark for a splash about, or paddle in the sea. All of these will cool you down. Just make sure you reapply your sun protection. If you don’t want to be in and out of the water, place a cold towel or ice cubes wrapped up on the back of your neck or on your wrists, and you will feel the benefit.
Follow these tips to keep cool in a heatwave, and you’ll enjoy the hot weather while at Club MAC Alcudia – we can’t wait to welcome you!

There is a separate kids’ corner in the restaurants too, packed with everything we know children love. Our hope is to provide something for everyone. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be covering our dinner menus in much more detail. There are themed nights every week, ranging from traditional Mallorcan food to Chinese and Indian cuisine themed nights.
While the dinner menu changes every evening, breakfast stays the same in each restaurant every day. If you want to see the entire range of food on offer for all meals, check the Club MAC webapp.
What’s Included in Breakfast at Club MAC Alcudia?
Let’s start with the Mallorcan breakfast buffet options. All of our food is buffet style, so you come and help yourselves to whatever you fancy. Traditional Mallorcan buffet foods on offer include our own bread, home-grown tomatoes, olives, capers and cheese. Meat lovers can try butifarron or camaiot, which are both similar to black pudding. Sobrasada is a dish of cured sausage made with pork and paprika.
For a continental-style breakfast you can choose from all kinds of bread, including wholemeal, white, sandwich bread, Mallorcan white and brown as well as specialist gluten free bread. Pick from all kinds of jams, including peach, strawberry and apricot, honey, chocolate spread or marmalade to go with it. Or if you prefer savoury there are lots of cold cuts, cheeses and pates available, including Spanish serrano ham, Spanish fuet and cheese triangles for the kids.
Or pile your plate with fresh fruit and croissants, Danish pastries, doughnuts and fairy cakes. These are just some of the sweet treats on offer at breakfast time – you are on holiday after all! All kinds of cereals are available, from cornflakes to coco loops, and muesli to fruit and fibre cereal.
English-style cooked breakfast options
Of course, we have lots of cooked options too, as we know that an English traditional breakfast hits the spot. Choose from British sausage, frankfurters, fried potatoes, bacon, scrambled, fried or boiled eggs, fried veggies (peppers, aubergine and onion), baked beans and Spanish potato omelette.
If you’d rather watch your breakfast be freshly cooked in front of you, head to our omelette or pancake stations. You can choose from a variety of toppings for both and load up your omelette or pancake with as much as you like. Delicious!
The healthier option
For those who don’t want to load up too much at breakfast time, we have lots of lighter options available too. Our dietetic buffet includes alternatives to sugar, low sugar jams, healthy seeds such as flax, sesame and pumpkin, wholemeal cereals, fibre cereals, low fat yoghurts and wholemeal breads.
There is also a dedicated fresh fruit buffet, and dried fruits including raisins, prunes and dates available. Fruit juices include orange, mixed, apple, tomato and pineapple.
Additional varieties that change every day
All of the above is available every breakfast, but here are various options that alternate. These include churros, sliced fruits, different cheeses, alternative meats, terrines and pork head cheese (collagen rich brawn served in a terrine), among others.
Top it all off with a choice of fresh coffee, hot chocolate, English tea, mint, limeflower or camomile teas or a glass of cold, fresh milk. Don’t forget to check the app for full details, as we have not covered every single option in this blog. And look out for future blogs talking about lunch and our fabulous themed dinners. One thing’s for sure – no-one goes hungry at Club MAC!

What to do if you have a food allergy
Each hotel – Saturno, Marte and Jupiter – has a restaurant and, as you can imagine, we have lots of chefs working on the meals every day. Our chefs and dining staff are always happy to chat to you about the ingredients in each available dish, and recommend dishes that are safe to eat.
We’re happy to prepare simple meals like grilled meat, boiled vegetables, or potatoes for guests with allergies. We offer gluten-free bread, pasta, cereals, and various dairy-free milks (such as soy, almond, lactose-free, or oat milk). We also ensure dishes are taken directly from the kitchen to avoid cross-contamination.
It’s essential to inform us of any allergies, especially serious ones. Make sure both your party and Club MAC staff are aware, so we can accommodate everyone properly.
