MACKY AND MISHA RECICLYINH

Did you know that during your stay at Club MAC you’re also helping to protect the planet? While enjoying the sun, pools, and family-friendly atmosphere, you’re contributing to charitable projects, sustainable initiatives, and activities that care for our environment.

Social Commitment: Making a Difference Together

Since 2012, we have collaborated with UNICEF Spain’s “Hotel Friends” program, helping to protect children at risk. With a voluntary donation of €1 when making your reservation, and through the charity events we organize throughout the season, we work together to build a safer and more hopeful future.

We are also proud to participate in the blood donation campaign organized by the Balearic Islands Blood Bank, with the involvement of our team members — a great example of how solidarity can start at home and extend to the wider community.

Every year, we have the pleasure of welcoming a group of children under state care to the resort, offering them a day full of fun, games, laughter, and unforgettable memories with our animation team. Additionally, we celebrate the Family Day at Club MAC, a very special event where the families of our team come together for a fun-filled party. At Club MAC, we believe that every child deserves to smile, have fun, and feel part of something special.

Guardians of the Sea

In 2025, we closely collaborated with Palma Aquarium in a series of educational activities focused on marine conservation.

From this partnership, the “Guardians of the Sea” activity was born, where children simulate the rescue of a sea turtle and learn what to do if they ever find one in trouble. A fun, educational experience that raises environmental awareness.

We also organize a beach day to enjoy time together as a family — a perfect day that combines fun and learning in a natural setting.

Environmental Commitment: Caring for Our Surroundings

At Club MAC, we work every season to reduce our ecological footprint and improve the efficiency of our facilities. In 2024, we implemented an automatic outdoor lighting control system, optimized energy consumption with solar panels, and installed ozone equipment in the Dragón and Saturno pools, improving water quality and reducing filter cleaning times.

As a new initiative, we have launched a food waste management system to help reduce kitchen waste and further contribute to a positive impact. The Winnow tool uses artificial intelligence to scan waste produced in the main kitchens and food trucks. This allows us to identify areas for improvement and progressively reduce food waste.

Within this framework, we proudly celebrate World Environment Day with games, activities, and workshops that teach children the importance of caring for our planet. We believe that environmental education is the best tool to build a greener future.

A More Responsible Future, Together

When you choose to stay at Club MAC Alcudia, you not only enjoy a holiday full of fun and relaxation, but you also contribute to a more sustainable future for our community and our planet.

Club MAC Alcudia long-serving female staff

At Club MAC Alcudia, we take immense pride in our long-serving female staff who have been instrumental in crafting memorable holidays in Alcudia.  A key ingredient that makes our hospitality a success is the invaluable contribution of our female staff.

On International Women’s Day, let’s meet some of the Club MAC Alcudia long-serving female staff who have been part of the Club MAC family for the longest!

Meet Isabel

Our reservations manager, Isabel Solé, started her Club MAC journey at the tender age of 16 as a reception assistant. She has spent 35 years with us, witnessing and contributing to the resort’s growth through various positions. From the days of three separate hotels with receptions to the switch to all-inclusive services, Isabel has been an integral part of our evolution. She has witnessed such iconic moments as the birth of Macky and Misha, and is one of the few people around who can claim to have used an old telephone switchboard with patch cords back in the day.

Meet Marga

Marga Muntaner has been an integral part of Club MAC for over four decades. Like Isabel, she also joined the resort at the young age of 16 as a reception assistant and worked her way up to her current supervisory role as the Housekeeping and Reception Manager. Her parents also worked at Club MAC – her father was a chef and her mother a head housekeeper – which shows how much Club MAC is a family affair. Marga’s expertise in the hospitality industry is unmatched, and her dedication to ensuring that our guests have a comfortable stay is evident in her daily work.

Meet Nathalie

Nathalie Jaguin joined Club MAC in 1994 in the reservations department and thereafter moved to customer services. Nathalie’s friendly demeanour and willingness to help guests have made her a valuable member of the team. Her years of experience and expertise have helped her achieve the position of General.

Meet Xisca

Xisca Sastre started with us in 1988, and has been a part of the Club MAC family for 35 years and counting . She initially assisted the human resources team in the head offices. When the company took over Club MAC, she moved to the resort and became the Human Resources Manager. Xisca’s vast experience and people skills have helped her to maintain a happy and motivated staff at Club MAC.

Meet Mari

Mari Corrales arrived at the Club MAC complex only a few years after its inauguration. Starting in dining in 1977, she began her career with us. A year was also spent in housekeeping before her return to dining. Excelling in her role, she quickly became Maitre d’.

Meet Ana

Ana Alonso began her journey at Club MAC way back in 1975 at the young age of 14 years. She has worked her up all the dining room positions, picking up personal and professional achievements along the way, until she became Supervisor. Thanks to her extensive experience in customer service, she is now a go-to person for guidance for our staff. Ana is a true Club MAC veteran!

Celebrating Club MAC Alcudia long-serving female staff, we honor women’s contributions to the economy, society, and community. The women at Club MAC show dedication and hard work. We are proud of their efforts in making Club MAC a success.

Immerse yourself in the natural beauty at Club MAC Alcudia, where our twin lakes are the centerpiece of the stunning Maristany ecosystem, a thriving wetland zone in the Balearic Islands. With our annual oxygenation efforts, these lakes remain vibrant and are a haven for diverse wildlife, offering a unique natural experience for our guests.

A Haven for Water Adventures

Our lakes beckon the adventurer in you. Although swimming isn’t on the cards, a realm of water escapades awaits, from serene pedalo journeys to adventurous boating. And the best part? Every day, between 10 am and 1 pm, you’re invited to embark on the pedalos, free of charge.

But the experience doesn’t end at the water’s edge. The surroundings of Club MAC feature numerous footpaths and cycle trails, perfect for those wanting to explore on land. For birdwatchers, strategically placed hides offer great spots to observe rare avian species in their natural habitat. Additionally, the visitor’s centre provides enlightening displays and exhibits for a deeper understanding of the region’s ecological and historical significance

The Historical Significance of S’Albufera Wetlands

The S’Albufera Natural Park includes the lakes at the hotel, forming an intricate system of drained land and canalized water. This area has a rich tapestry of history woven into its landscapes. Named after the Arabic word for ‘lagoon’, these wetlands have been influenced by civilizations, from ancient Romans to modern Spaniards

Centuries ago, emperors in Rome feasted on ‘night herons’ from these very wetlands. By the 19th century, a British company attempted to drain the wetlands, leaving behind a network of canals that can still be witnessed today. The 20th century saw the region embrace rice cultivation, and manufacturing using native sedge and reeds flourished.

However, with the looming threat of tourism affecting this delicate ecosystem, 1985 marked the year when S’Albufera was christened a protected nature reserve.

A Haven for Birdwatchers

The proximity of Club MAC to the S’Albufera Natural Park makes it a coveted destination for ornithologists worldwide. Rare avian wonders such as Montagu’s harriers, long-eared owls, stonechats, moustached warblers, and more find their home here. With ospreys diving for their catch and peregrines making the wetlands their year-round abode, birdwatchers are in for a real treat.

In Conclusion

At Club MAC Alcudia, the joy of vacationing merges seamlessly with the natural beauty Club MAC offers. It’s not just a stay but an experience—one that promises memories filled with fun, adventure, and the serene beauty of Mallorca’s wetlands.

How Guests Are Helping to preserve Majorca - Club Mac

At Club MAC Alcudia, we proudly support sustainable tourism while showcasing Majorca’s natural beauty. By staying with us, not only will you enjoy the island’s wonders, but you’ll also contribute to preserving this magnificent destination for future generations. Moreover, your stay helps protect the environment and supports local conservation efforts, ensuring that Majorca remains a beautiful place for years to come. Therefore, your visit makes a meaningful impact on both the island and its future.

What is sustainable tourism?

Sustainable tourism helps to make a positive impact on the environment. Tourism generally has a significant impact on the natural resources of a region, affecting everything from pollution to social systems. Majorca is taking several steps to make sure that the tourists who enjoy this holiday destination can still see the environmental splendor without it having too many negative impacts on the island. Tourism tax funds this initiative.

What is the tourist tax?

This charge applies to holidaymakers visiting Majorca. The money raised goes to protecting the resources on the islands.

What is being done?

The Sustainable Tourism Promotion Commission (CITS) approved 70 projects for funding. The funding came from the 2017 sustainable tourism tax revenue. The Chairman of the Committee, Biel Barceló, hails that this helps them reach their goal of preservation. He states that “we got our goal… [to] compensate for the ecological footprint of tourism and the improvement of the environment”. This is sure to make Majorca a continually beautiful place to spend your holidays!

In Majorca, €29.7 million funds 27 sustainable tourism projects. Protecting and recovering the natural environment is very important to this committee. They want to preserve, modernize and recover the natural, rural, agricultural and marine environment and rehabilitate the agricultural landscape through such methods as replanting trees. The region is truly cared for with this effort.

At Club MAC, we enjoy the unique nature of Alcudia. The nearby natural attractions, such as S’albufereta and Puig de Sant Martí, are a must for any visitor to our resort. Their beauty makes for great day trips memorable for all the family. With these investments into our island, you and your family can enjoy these wonders for years to come!

How much will tourism tax cost?

The cost of tourism tax to your holiday is almost unnoticeable. Sustainable tourism at Club MAC Alcudia is supported through a charge of €2 per night (plus 10% VAT) from May to October and 0.50€ from November to April, for each person aged 16 or older. Starting from the 9th night of your stay, the fee is reduced by 50%. For this low price, you’ll get to enjoy your holiday, safe in the knowledge that the beauty of Majorca will be there to greet you on any return visits. Remember, on your next holiday with us, to take in the natural wonders as you enjoy all that Club MAC and Alcudia has to offer.
