Then you arrive at the ancient Luc Monastery, where you have the chance to look around and experience traditional Spanish culture before taking a nice descent down the coll-de-femenia into the charming town of Pollenca.
Cap de Formentor lighthouse route
Are you more of a beach person? If you are then you might want to think about trying the Cap de Formentor lighthouse route instead.
A 25 mile ride, the path starts and ends in the same town as the Lluc Monastery route; the lovely settlement known as Pollenca. It’s a bit of a climb as it takes you up into the hilly terrain of a peninsula before you arrive at the pinnacle of your ride; the world famous Cap de Formentor lighthouse, which is well worth a few hours of your time. Along the way this route allows you to pass by some of the most epic stretches of sand that Majorca has to offer.
Around the orange groves route
However, if you’re looking for something a little quieter and more peaceful there’s only one route you should take. This 25 mile loop route takes you around the stunning orange groves of Majorca.
You start and finish in the hard-not-to-love traditional town of Llucmajor. Then the path will take you down some of the quietest little country roads in Majorca, whilst giving you the opportunity to ride through the citrus groves and small fincas the island has become famous for.
Around Alcudia
But if you want to stay closer to the resort, you can find plenty of good cycling routes near Alcudia. You could try the 30 mile route through the S’Albufera Nature Park, for instance. Here, you’ll be able to take a nice easy ride, along well-paved paths, viewing the fascinating flora and fauna that calls these wetlands home. You may want to watch out for the European Turtle, which is incredibly rare!
