You’re Never without something to do in Alcudia

Club MAC Alcudia is an amazing family resort in the sun-drenched Balaeric island of Majorca. We have a range of activities designed to keep you and your little ones occupied when you stay at Club MAC.

But if you want to see what the island has to offer, you’re in the perfect place. Club MAC Alcudia is located in the historic port town of Alcudia, where you’re never left without something to do. 2015’s no exception, as a number of events are due to take place in the picturesque tourist town. Here’s what’s happening in Alcudia between February and May…

February

February kicks off with the Talaia K20 Mountain race. Taking place on the 14th February, this’ll give you a chance to compete in a thrilling competition that starts in Alcudia, passes through the island’s stunning forest tracks and goes all the way down to the finish line at Sa Talaia.

The other big event you have to see in Alcudia during February 2015 is its famous Carnival. Held the next day on 15th February, it’ll give you the chance to witness the Carnival’s highly anticipated glittering parade as it passes through the heart of Alcudia’s historic old town.

March

March opens with the iconic Parabadminton International Tournament. This tournament welcomes people from all over the planet with different physical, mental or sensory disabilities and takes place on 26th March, drawing huge crowds every year.

Sport will continue to grip Alcudia the next day, as 27th March will see the Let’s Tri Alcudia International Olympic Duathalon come to town. This gives federated and non-federated participants the opportunity to take on a 5km run and a 10km bike ride!

April

April’s a busy month for Alcudia. Holy week, held this year between 2nd and 4th April, will give you a chance to witness the Catholic culture that’s shaped Majorcan identity. However, if you’re a sports fanatic, you’ll be able to indulge in your passion with the non-competitive Viva Cycling Sportive bike race on the 5th April.

Meanwhile the foodies among you should note the 10th April on your calendar. This is the day that the Nautical and Gastronomic Fair flies into Alcudia; an event which combines food markets with a boat fair to provide you with a snapshot of traditional Majorcan life. April closes with one for you music lovers out there, 360 De Cultura; a night of culture with music, recreational activities, dance and a plethora of shows which runs for 8 straight hours!

May

As temperatures start to soar things only get busier in the thriving port town of Alcudia. The 1st of the month is another for you music fanatics, as you get the chance to experience the charm of Alcudia’s Feria de Abril. An evening of cheerful music, dance and food, you can’t afford to miss this popular event. Meanwhile your kids will be able to get a little competitive if you’re in Alcudia on 8th May, as this is the day the town plays host to the Ironkids athletic competition.

The following day is time for the adults to see what they’re made of, as this day the Thomas Cook Ironman 70.3 Majorca competition comes back to Alcudia. Not for the faint of heart, this swimming, biking and running competition will stretch you to the limit!
