Club MAC sun protection

We know that so many of you had booked your holiday for early summer at Club MAC Alcudia for summer 2020 and can no longer come due to COVID-19. In normal times we would, of course, have opened on 1 May and be enjoying the beautiful Mallorcan sunshine together.

Mallorca has had relatively low cases of coronavirus, but of course, we are following the Spanish Government’s rules regarding any de-escalation of lockdown. Only when the national Government decide that it is safe to open the ports and airports will we have more information about when we can welcome tourists back.

Mallorca is still closed to tourists from overseas

Currently, the Spanish Government has made it clear there will be no international travel until at least July. When flights do open up, we envisage a number of new protocols regarding tourism, which we now have outlined on our website. These include social distancing measures, strict cleaning protocols and various other health and safety steps to keep staff and guests as safe as possible.

As part of Phase 1 of the de-escalation plans, certain businesses have been allowed to reopen since 11 May. And while this includes some hotels, guests can’t use communal areas such as restaurants, pools, terraces, and cafes. This means Club MAC Alcudia is closed for the foreseeable.

It can be difficult to stay positive during these challenging times, so we thought we’d look ahead to 2021! Many of our guests have altered their holiday dates until either much later in the season, or simply to next year. It might seem a long way away, but here’s what you have to look forward to when we can finally get together again.

Looking ahead to summer holidays at Club MAC in 2021

Club MAC is all about family fun, and regular guests know what to expect from our fabulous entertainment team, the nearby Hidropark and the facilities we have on site. For brand new Maccers, here’s what to expect. We are a complex of three hotel buildings (Jupiter, Saturno and Marte) across 100,000 square metres.

We’re also just less than 1km (900m) from the stunning sandy Alcudia beach, which has plenty of space to relax and warm, shallow waters to enjoy. Our resort is built around two natural lakes that are part of the S’Albufera wetlands. And there is so much to do at Club MAC for a fun-filled family holiday.

We have six swimming pools of different sizes, including a splash pool for kids. If that’s not enough water-based fun, you can pop across the road to the Hidropark Alcudia. For many years we have had an agreement with this waterpark meaning all Club MAC guests can get in for free – as many times as you like!

It’s just across the road from our front entrance and is packed with slides, pools and fun things to do. You also get 20% off food and drink at the waterpark, and a discount on sunbeds. When you get hungry you can, of course, head back to Club MAC and enjoy buffet breakfasts, lunches and dinners at one of our three main restaurants.

All-inclusive family fun holidays at Club MAC Alcudia

Our all-inclusive holiday gives guests a choice of three restaurants at each hotel building. Take a look here for full details of the meals available, and to find out about our on-site bars.

We have daily entertainment ranging from sports activities to children’s games, and a full range of evening shows, bingo and much more. This is a very brief overview of Club MAC, do check out our website for all of the information you need to know for your 2021 holiday.

In the meantime, remember we’re all in this together all around the world and stay positive. One day we’ll be enjoying our holidays on the beaches of Alcudia again!
