6 things not to forget when packing for your next holiday
At Club MAC, we believe that holidays are the best time of year! But just imagine forgetting your essentials! Don’t worry, here’s how to avoid a holiday disaster with our travel checklist and packing tips:
- Don’t forget your tickets and passport
An obvious one, but most of us forget one or both at one time or another. So, to help avoid a panic at the airport, make a list of everything you need before you pack. Cross things off the list as you put them in your case and make sure you include tickets and passport on the list!
- Save bag space for all your holiday purchases
You’ll be bringing back more than you leave with – from souvenirs to gifts – so leave some space for goodies.
- Sunglasses, hats and suncream
Majorca is the sunshine island and as soon as you arrive on our island, it’s clear why! We’re blessed with glorious sunshine most of the year. If you’re coming in summer, you can expect it to get hot. In August, the average temperature is around 31°C every day. While we’re big fans of the sunny conditions – and working on our tans – we think it’s best that all our guests are fully prepared for the weather. Make sure you bring your sunglasses, sunhat and sun cream to help you stay safe in the sun. With clear skies and sunny days on the horizon, you’ll be able to soak up the sun without any worries.
- Swimsuits!
If you love to swim, Club MAC is the best place for you! From our big pool to the ones we’ve specially designed for children, you’ll find plenty of sunbeds to relax on in-between dips in the pool. - A phrase book
If you want to explore beyond our resort, we highly recommend checking out the markets in Alcudia’s Old Town! These picturesque markets are popular with both locals and tourists, with a wide range of things on offer. If you’re in the market for shoes, clothes, leather goods or jewellery, this is the perfect time for you to break out that phrasebook and try to haggle!
Alternatively, the bars and restaurants throughout Alcudia can offer some delicious food and drinks to keep you refreshed. Our marina has spectacular views of the sea and is the perfect place to watch the yachts come and go. However, there’s so much more to this amazing spot! Here you’ll find some of the area’s most famous dishes. Try something new as you sample some of the delicious pulpo gallego (octopus with paprika and potatoes), seafood paella or roast suckling pig. If you’re just stopping by for a quick break, you’ll find a range of tasty treats too. With excellent ice cream and crêpes on to try, your kids are sure to love this haven!
Adding in a few Spanish phrases will help you to get to know the locals and improve your language skills.
