Inhabited for centuries, Majorca has an incredibly rich, diverse culture. When staying at Club MAC Alcudia, you may want to explore the Island’s cultural heritage by heading to one of its popular museums. Here are five museums you might want to check out in Majorca.

Yannick & Ben Jakober Foundation

If you want to stay close to Club MAC, check out the Yannick & Ben Jakober Foundation. Located in the outskirts of Alcudia, this unique museum is designed to promote Balearic Island artists, showcasing a variety of paintings and sculptures produced across the region. Boasting a range of cultural areas such as the Sculpture Park and the SOKRATES space, it is an absolute must for art lovers.

Pollentia Monografic Museum

Just outside Alcudia, you’ll also find the ruins of the Roman City of Pollentia. Learn more about this incredible archaeological site by stopping by the Pollentia Monografic Museum. Based in a 14th Century hospital near Alcudia’s Sant Jaume Church, at this space you can see a variety of objects unearthed from excavations at Pollentia, shedding more light on ancient Roman life.

Es Baluard

Sitting on the shoreline of the Bay of Palma, Es Baluard is fast becoming one of the Majorcan capital’s most popular attractions. If you take some time to visit this distinct space, you’ll discover modern and contemporary works from top Balearic artists. Es Baluard also features a book and gift shop, great views of the Bay and a reputable restaurant, making it the perfect place to spend the day!

Pilar and Joan Miró Foundation

When he was 63, noted sculptor and painter Joan Milo bought a house and studio in Palma, where he lived until his death in 1983. Following his passing, the house was turned into the Pilar and Joan Miró Foundation, which is now Majorca’s most visited museum. If you’re a fan of Joan Miro’s output, you have to include this iconic place, which holds over 100 paintings, 25 sculptures and 3,000 studio pieces on your itinerary! You can even visit Miro’s studio, which has been left untouched since his death.

Casal Soleric

Classic and contemporary styles collide at Palma’s Casal Soleric. This museum is housed in a beautiful 18th Century Baroque style building, which was designed by celebrated Majorcan architect Gaspar Palmer. It also possesses incredible iron and sculptural decorations, courtesy of Italian artist Antonio Soldati. However when you walk inside this space, you’ll be greeted by a host of modern art, photography and even comic book exhibitions, so you’ll have plenty to explore!
