If you’re visiting Club MAC Alcudia in July you’re in luck, as your stay will coincide with one of the most anticipated events in the Alcudian calendar; the Festival of Sant Jaume.

Club MAC Alcudia is a first-rate family resort in the Majorcan port town of Alcudia. The ghosts of history seep from every pore of this ancient town, and if you want to explore Alcudia’s fantastic past, there’s no better time to do so then July.

This is the month that Alcudia spends nine days hosting the Festival of Sant Jaume to honour its patron saint. Every year, the town regularly features a series of fun-filled events such as concerts, sports competitions, open-air dances, exhibitions and religious ceremonies, which transport you to the heart of traditional Majorcan life.

2015 Festival

This year’s Festival will be held from Friday 17th July 2015 – Saturday 25th July 2015, and is set to include an array of events that’ll provide you with a holiday you’ll never forget. If you want to make the most of this special occasion, there are several events you should ensure you don’t miss.

Make sure you’re free at 8pm on 19th July. This will allow you to take part in line dancing and  ballroom dancing event which will be held at the Passeig de la Mare de Déu de la Victòria. Meanwhile, your kids will be begging you to keep the 20th July free, when a kids party will be held in Carles V Square from 6pm. The bash includes the breaking of ceramic pots, water activities, bouncy castles and foam parties!

You’ll also want to keep some time spare on the 23rd July. Starting at 10,15pm, a series of traditional Majorcan dances will be held in Carles V Square, which’ll give you the chance to learn a little bit about traditional Majorcan folklore. The Festival closes on 25th July with a fantastic fireworks display at midnight to celebrate Sant Jaume himself in Carles V Square!
