What do you need to do to keep in contact with friends or family while you’re staying at Club MAC Alcudia? Read on to learn how to keep in touch with your loved ones when you’re on holiday.

Contact your loved ones from Club MAC

You’ll have such a good time when you stay at Club MAC Alcudia that you’ll want to tell everyone back home how amazing your trip is. We provide a variety of amenities you can use to stay in touch with your loved ones throughout your getaway.

Every room at Club MAC has a telephone. Relatives and friends from the UK can ring you whenever they want. All they have to do is call +34 971 891600, enter your room and building number and they’ll be patched through. Club MAC also sells telephone cards and we have various public telephone boxes within the resort, which can be operated with euros.

We also provide free Wi-Fi in the ground floor areas, premium rooms and family suites of our three hotels as well as for a modest price (3.95 euros per week) in standard rooms. Take advantage of our Wi-Fi facilities to contact the people you care about via Facebook, email, WhatsApp etc.

Beware roaming charges

But what do you do if you’re out and about? You can use your mobile to keep in touch with people back home but you need to be aware that charges will be higher in Majorca than they would be back home.

This is because when you use your mobile overseas you’re ‘roaming;’ connecting to a foreign network. Calls are redirected through an overseas network instead of the one you use at home. This means that you’re charged at a higher rate and this can vastly inflate your phone bill.

How much will you pay with the major UK providers?

If you want to avoid a hefty bill when you get home you’ll need to know how much it’ll cost you to make and receive calls, as well as send texts. As Spain is a part of the EU, roaming charges are capped at 18.8p per minute to make calls, 4.9p per minute to receive calls and 5.9p per minute to send texts. For example:

  • EE customers will pay 18.8p per minute to make a call, 4.9p per minute to receive calls and 5.9p to send a text.
  • O2 customers will pay 18p per minute to make a call, 4.8p to receive a call and 5p to send a text.
  • Vodafone customers will pay 18.7p per minute to make a call, 4.9p to receive a call and 5.8p to send a text.
  • Its FREE for Three customers! If you are on the Three network you can use your phone or tablet abroad for free; available in 18 locations.

Do your research

There are a number of ways you can keep in touch with family and friends at home in the UK when you jet out to Majorca for a week of fun in glorious Balearic sun. However some are more expensive than others, so you need to do your research if you want to enjoy the holiday of a lifetime without generating a staggering phone bill.
