Club MAC Celebrates Unicef Day
We’re proud to announce that Club MAC Alcudia recently raised €1,581.50 for Unicef, as we expanded on our efforts to help the charity end global child exploitation at our latest Unicef day!
Club MAC Alcudia and Unicef
Unicef is the world’s leading children’s charity. The Spanish committee of Unicef launched a new initiative in 2013 – Hoteles Amigos – to work with Spanish hotels to stamp out child exploitation across the planet. Club MAC Alcudia joined the initiative two years ago, and we’ve been doing everything we can since to help Unicef achieve their goal.
We’ve hosted a range of family themed events for our guests, who are always eager to get involved, to raise funds for the charity. The Club MAC Alcudia team also holds a Unicef day every season to bolster our efforts. This has allowed the staff and guests of Club MAC to raise €13,495 for Unicef; our parent company, MAC Hotels, has gathered more than €30,000 in the past two years to support the children’s charity.
Unicef day 2015
We held our most recent Unicef day on 25th August 2015. The team set up a number of fabulous activities for guests to enjoy including ring-tossing, foam-throwing, water-catapulting and mask-painting. With guests donating 50 cents a turn, we managed to raise a staggering €1,581.50 for the cause.
Director Miguel Amengual has previously explained why MAC Hotels knew that Hoteles Amigos was something they had to get involved with. He said: “Club MAC Alcudia is a specialised family resort and around 30% of our guests staying at the hotel are children. As a group of hotels we are committed to supporting Unicef’s programme, one which has a very important preventive aspect. We are proud to support the charity with great enthusiasm and dedication to the work of Unicef.”
