Club MAC Alcudia is proud to announce that we’ve raised €13,495 over the past two years to help Unicef end child sexual exploitation across the world.

MAC Hotels’ Social Responsibility Programme

Club MAC Alcudia is one of five hotels owned and operated by MAC Hotels. Through its Social Responsibility Programme, our parent company has raised €30,000 to help Unicef in its battle to put a stop to child sexual exploitation through training and communication activities.

Club MAC partnered with Unicef’s initiative for Spanish hotels – Hoteles Amigos – in 2013. We hosted a series of family themed activities with our guests, who were always eager to get involved, throughout the season to raise funds for the children’s charity. We have also held a specific Unicef event one day per season since 2013.

Director Miguel Amengual explained why MAC Hotels believed that this initiative was something they had to get involved in. He was quoted by Breaking Travel News saying:

“Club MAC Alcudia is a specialised family resort and around 30% of our guests staying at the hotel are children. As a group of hotels we are committed to supporting Unicef’s programme, one which has a very important preventive aspect. We are proud to support the charity with great enthusiasm and dedication to the work of Unicef.”

Club MAC Alcudia has won the Travelife Gold Certificate since 2012

We have also received the highest accolade that a tourism firm can earn, the Travelife Gold Certificate, every year since 2012. This is an international sustainability certification scheme for hotels which is awarded on a range of criteria including employee welfare, child protection, and human rights.

Club MAC Alcudia has been awarded the Travelife Gold Certificate every year since 2012 because we’ve managed to meet its stringent criteria time and time again. The team at our hotel have managed to cultivate fair operating practises whilst protecting our guests, employees and the local community of Alcudia, the stunning Majorcan port-town where we’re based.
